Welcome to Da Nonna Rosetta, a place where every stone bears the mark of our family and its deep connection to Ischia. Our history here goes back generations. On my father’s side, we are an island family, rooted in this land forever. Every summer, we return to this house which is much more than just a home; it is a place where life is shared around a table, amidst laughter and stories.
At the heart of it all was Rosa, nicknamed Rosetta. A woman of character and immense generosity. Those who came to her home always left with a memory, a flavor, a moment of sharing. In Switzerland, where she lived for a few years, she formed deep friendships. And when she returned to Ischia, she naturally continued to host, inviting those dear to her to discover the island just as she loved it.
By her side was her brother, Zio Luciano. Very close to Rosetta, he shared this family land with her. The two neighboring houses saw the birth of common memories, shared meals, and simple, true moments that were part of their daily lives. Today, even though Luciano and Rosetta are no longer with us, the place remains inhabited by their presence. The gardens, the walls, the sea view… everything still bears the trace of what they built and shared together.
Rosetta was also a woman of the earth. Around this house, she cultivated her land with passion. Tomatoes, grapes, zucchini, pears… every season brought its harvests. And that is how we remember her: in her garden, hands in the soil, watching over her plants just as she watched over us.
When she left us, we wanted to preserve this place, to keep it alive. Every detail, every shared moment, is a memory of her, of precious instants spent by her side, and the fruit of all the work she accomplished on this land. Da Nonna Rosetta was born from the desire to offer others the chance to discover Ischia as she would have, with generosity and simplicity. It is not just a house; it is a legacy, a family story, a tribute to the woman who taught us to cultivate what surrounds us. Today, we invite you to discover what has always charmed us here: authenticity, the beauty of simplicity, and a corner of Ischia that, we hope, will also become a little bit yours.
